Agree! It was fabulous! Couldn't put it down and reduced me to tears. Was brilliant on so many levels!

I loved the characters especially Ditte - the character of Edith Thompson. Tears marked the final pages too!
This has to be one of the very best books I have ever read. I loved the characters, the plot & historical context. An emotional roller coaster with many tears. Beautiful!

This was one of the best books I have ever read. Complete genius and perfection.
I agree with the emotion at the end of the book - I even cried telling someone about it! Some of the writing was beautiful beyond description - the notes about Enduring Love between Esme and Gareth and Lizzie's final definition of Bondmaid - and I'm off again!
