I’m so glad that the story jumps right into Naomi and Nicholas being unhappy with each other, so that their re-falling-in-love stage felt fresh for the reader.

Naomi is HILAROUS. It felt like every page had something she said or thought that made me chortle. Problem is trying to quote them 😭 a lot of the funny was so context heavy that unless I quoted a few paragraphs it wouldn’t make sense.

A lot of the side characters also shared the same type of humour style. And all characters in the story had a hint of caricature quality to them, that made it entertaining but not so over the top. It was a lot like watching a Wes Anderson film.

I’ll put this here to highlight that:

“If you don’t see me tomorrow it’s because I’m dead, I say.

Zachary reminds me we don’t work tomorrow, Leon does.

“If you don’t see me Wednesday, it’s because I’m dead.

“Ok. We’ll wait till Wednesday to call the police, then.

N&N’s journey from out of love to into love felt naturally and not rushed. I found I could connect to Naomi in a lot of ways her tendency to be passive aggressive, and her habit of hiding her failures from others. There were also many things she did that made me wanna shake her so bad. WAKE UP GIRL! COMMUNICATE! 😂😂 What I DID absolutely love was her not fretting about her appearance 24/7 and her being happy with what size she was. You go girl!

Great read if you want something light and funny. But also sweet.
