Reading for the 5th time. Most recently started March 12, 2025.
** spoiler alert **
I loved it. Oh good golly i loved it. I wonder if my love of it is skewed because of my love for the actual saga. This series is so nostalgic for me i have no doubt my review is a little skewed. Anyways its all i ever wanted. Edward's POV was so necessary for me and i wish that we could get the whole saga from his point of view. I have read articles that we wont but still my wish for all shooting stars from here on out.
Minor Spoilers past this point:
The book was super good at explaining his thought process and it was such a plus getting to see inside the other characters heads in the story. I love that Charlie's mind was hard to read but Renee's was screaming at him. It was an interesting addition to understanding Bella's Gift. I also loved to see that Edward's decision to leave in New Moon wasn't so abrupt! He was prepping himself from the hospital stay. He prayed for the first time since changing. Prayed to have the strength to save her from himself. HE prayed to a God he doesn't think acknowledges him. She is that important to him. He does love her. Knew that but it just makes so much more sense now why this was a story from the start.
Small thing i loved: I love understanding that he wanted her to go to prom so when she had children she could tell them about the old best friend and old boyfriend who took her. I also love the small fear that her two children will be Jacob's. Especially because these children are also pictured by Bella in Eclipse. Crazy how things turned out!
I loved it. I just did a July reread of the series in order to prep for this release but finishing this story has me wanting to reread the series for a third time this year. I never grow tired of it. The story is a comfortable place for me to return to when i need to just slow down. Always grateful for that. Also the soundtracks to the movies have heavily influenced my taste in music. So basically thanks to twilight for all the joy i get from living in this world. It was so nice getting new material for this! Have i mentioned that i loved it? Well in case i didn't mention it yet... I LOVED IT! <3

“I could see the girl dressed all in white and walking at a measured pace, her arm through her father’s. It was odd, the pain that image caused me. I couldn’t understand it. Was I begrudging of her future because it was something I could never have?”

“The sky above me was clear, brilliant with stars, glowing blue in some

"I just..its so..UGH WORDS! I love it is an understatement idk how much my nostalgic love of this series is affecting my views of the story but i love it! I love seeing more of the Cullens' past and as well as what happens in their world during the events of Twilight. I was wary because Life & death was repetitive in events but this is more or less a completely different story because its his story not hers. Love it!"
