My best assessment of this book, would be ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 3/4 for the audiobook edition. The narration by Ell Potter was so extraordinary that I decided to round it up to 4 stars.
I chose Hamnet, by Maggie O’Farrell, for my month’s Bookclub choice and after reading 50% (damn Kindle for not using page numbers, but instead locations and percentages) I was disappointed. I was not in the least enjoying it. I was sure I would love it after having read so many reviews extolling it’s virtues. One reader’s commented that she had listened to the audiobook and loved it for it’s beautiful language and engaging story. I got the audiobook. I’ve finished the book on Kindle, but not the audiobook. I hope to return with some final thoughts when I do. Meanwhile I will make the recommendation to experience Hamnet via the audiobook.
