I usually enjoy Sarah Vowell's writing, but this one just wasn't a good match for my interests. Who would love it -- someone who knows a lot more about alternative rock in the 1990s than I do. There were so many references to bands and songs I didn't know that I wandered along half lost through much of her musings on what radio was offering throughout 1995. And by the end of this listener's diary, the diarist herself had become exhausted by her project.
