Apparently super clever people are idiots too.
This book was a frustrating read, but despite the playful approach to timeline (keep your head screwed on for that one), the lack of noteworthy writing, or quotation marks, it did reel me in.
I started to wonder how it would end - someone has to die! Nope. He is going to kill her! She is going to kill somebody! Nope. She is going to die at the hands of her sadistic sex buddy. Alas no. They are going to declare their love for each other and have a HEA. Nope. By the time the love declarations start, it's too late for these characters, their too set in their ways and just too broken - and they've broken each other more than the other characters in the story. I'm relieved it ended where it did, which was the perfect ending in a way, because it just goes on forever.
They say this is the book that defines a generation. If you are looking for a lucrative career, psychology is the way to go. If this book defines the average millennial, there is money to be made!
Last note: I couldn't help but think of Olive Kitteridge whilst reading this. The similarity for me in these two books are profound. There must be a master thesis there, lurking in the background.
