Soon I Will Be Invincible

This reads like Watchmen, but with real powers. A look at Superhero history from the eyes of one Supervillain, and one new recruit. This is a new superhero world, but many of the characters are familiar archetypes: the all-american goodie-two-shoes who is next to invincible, the brainy human who uses gadgets and a perfect physique to go up against the baddies, the superstrong warrior princess (Grossman is clearly a DC man and not Marvel).
The chapters alternate between the villain and the newbie's viewpoints, and we get a fascinating look at the humanity, politics, fallibility, and doubts for the heroes in this world.
The plotline follows the escape of the Supervillain and events following, but only takes up about a third of this fascinating tale.
An easy read, I highly recommend it for anyone who likes hero movies, grphic novels, or both.
