I wanted and was prepared to love this, but as it is I merely liked it; enough so that I still plan on picking up Hands Down. Color me curious enough about Zac’s character.
The narration in this book, though, (and I’m hoping Zac’s book will be different), felt repetitive at times and maybe the story would have benefitted from being shorter.
The nit-picker in me was also bothered by the fact that Vanessa endures rude treatment until her looks are insulted. Really? And the emphasis that she’s losing weight during the course of the story kind of rubbed me the wrong way even if it had no impact on Aidan’s feelings.
This was my first book by this author and I’m aware of how many love her work, but after this I’m still on the fence. I’m hoping Zac will help tip me to either side.
