it was amazing

Be still my heart! Another alpha Crowne brother hits the dust. And the old adage the bigger they are the harder they fall is so true with the hot dominant hunk, Dante Crowne. He's a big guy that's all about control but he's outdone when the vivacious Mandy Bennecourt lands in his quite haven. The Crowne house in Cambria is off the grid in a way that socialite Mandy is not used to but one she needs during this trying time in her life. She's a mess. The kind of mess that drives the always controlled Dante crazy. These two have a surprising history as an unusual teen encounter is hard to forget and leads Dante on a future path. His backstory is interesting and affects his life in a surprising way. Dante was the dark, mysterious brother in the previous stories with his BDSM clubs and closed off persona. I was so looking forward to his story but it wasn't as harsh as I expected. His romance with Mandy had moments of throbbing dominance but also sweet moments. I loved that Mandy turned the tables on him and there are encounters where she ruled the alpha. Both Dante and Mandy had tortured romances which lead to the question; could they ever be happy? I was kind of in and out with this romance. I loved their history and it's affect on mature Dante and Mandy willingness to pick up where they left off. Dante could turn it on and had me in his palm with his forcefulness and control. Spank me, please. (Don't forget the comma!) Mandy is terrific with her big heart and sweetness. Just what Dante's needs in his life. Some light to his darkness. I love the Crowne family and was sad we didn't get more of them in this story like the first two stories. I was destroyed when the author's note at the end said that this was the last of the Crownes. No! I want sister Lyric's story plus Colton and Liam's. I love this series with the sexy Crowne brothers and the wonderful family. Mom and Dad are fabulous. This was something different from the first two which I appreciated. I love this author's spectacular writing and her exceptional storytelling. Her characters always come alive and Dante and Mandy are just outstanding. All shades of wonderful. Not my favorite of the series but still a must read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC. 4.5 stars
