This was such a fun ride! Going into it, I definitely was expecting a fast pace, and twists and turns and I got exactly that. It proceeded beautifully and I couldn't for the life of me guess where the plot is headed to. The characters were also really intriguing. Lemme tell you this, the Hawthorne family is twisted, but you cant help but loving every one of them. The boys had so much individuality to them, and they were never one dimensional. Avery had me invested in her story right from page one.
The only critique that comes to my mind right now is that fact that Maxine wasn't really given much of a background. We know that she's Avery's friend, but that's about it. Maybe she'll play a bigger role in the sequel. Overall such an entertaining and mind blowing first book! Can't wait for book 2 :)
