Another easy read from Christie, this time a selection of short stories featuring the intriguing Parker Pyne. This gentleman is not an investigator per se, but rather a student of human behaviour and psyche, a bit like Miss Marple but with more statistics. With his acquired knowledge, he sets out to sell ‘happiness� to people, in a rather smart and surprising way.

I rather enjoyed these, trying to fathom what Pyne had planned for his ‘clients�. As soon as you believe you know the ‘formula�, Christie changes the narration, first with some nice turnarounds, and then by having her protagonists go on a holiday abroad, or rather trying to since people keep accosting him to solve their problems :O)
