Majesty (American Royals, #2)

** spoiler alert **
This is a cutesy little book that reimagines America as an idealistic monarchy and doesn't delve /too/ deeply into its society as a whole (though this book was better than its predecessor at addressing race albeit at a superficial level).
But the storyline made no sense.
None of the couples from the first book survive this one. In fact, barely any of the couples from *this* book survive this book.
It felt cheap, ticking off every single cliché of the genre that it could. The last 30 pages were full to the brim of heartfelt speeches that felt hollow as the narrative leading up to them was soulless.
I really liked the first book and had looked forward to the sequel. For me, it just really didn't follow through.
