WOW. WHOA. OMG. WTF.
This book was incredible. It was surprising, suspenseful, unconventional, uncliché, touching, moving, mind-blowing, well-written, dark, .. and then ultimately Hopeful with a wonderful message.
In the start I thought this book was a typical romance about a good girl and a bad boy and said bad boy's secrets. Boy was I wrong.
*Pinky promise* This book will make your heart thump, then stop beating, then jump out of your chest, ache and hurt, and ultimately soar towards the Sky .
Reading this book was not always a comfortable journey. It was the craziest emotional roller-coaster ride of a book I've ever read. The Sea of Tranquility comes close but whoa, Hopeless is a unique gem. Many books try to capture the balance, perfect mix between hopefulness and hopelessness, good and bad, pain and pleasure, but they fail. Also, Hoover has once again created the perfect male lead - Dean Holder is AMAZING and surprising. He has depth. He is the most lovable Byronic hero ever.
Yeah, my review doesn't do this book justice really... Still I hope I did convey that this book is a must-read for any YA lover.
Sure, it makes your heart ache, makes you sob, and might even make you want to puke and destroy something but in the end it makes you feel the exact opposite of the title - you'll feel anything but Hopeless .
