Don’t it’s so boring and the rushes to end it

I’m about 20% in and it’s just ok so far.

I've heard it's for fans of Rebecca...and I'm skeptical now, a lot of reviews are not great. It is sweeping BookTube though, so, I don't know who to believe.

Oh, I can’t wait to hear what you think. I can definitely understand why people who like horror or hard historical fiction do not like this but I thought it was unique.

I think you'll dislike the romance, felt very shoehorned in there, but so did a lot of the other elements of the book. Good idea, bad execution.

I'm almost positive you're not gonna like it. Although the atmosphere is Gothic as heck but the story itself was not amazing.

I hope you get through the slow burn. I could not conquer it

Don’t bother.

This is the weirdest and grossest book I’ve ever read. I picked it up because it looked intriguing. The beginning had potential it was interesting enough but kind of boring until the middle where things escalated really fast and made absolutely no sense with literally the worst plot. It’s like the author wrote fiction and tried to cram mystery fantasy and science into one thing halfway through the book.

Really though it wasn’t a great storyline and the romance was terrible

I tried it but I didn’t think it was worth it at all.

For all the hype I disliked and dnfed this book around the half way mark. I hate a dnf so will probably try finish it at some point but it was boring asf and connected with zero of the characters.

i’m glad to see i’m not alone. i felt like both nothing and everything happened in this book but i cared about none of it.

My problem with this book is that I think there is mote Gothic than Mexican, and the most interesting part were exactly the parts where you could see more of Mexican culture and mythology

Finally! Someone said it. I love goth and gore but this was a big no for me. Just gross.

I was so bored with this one that I ended up DNFing it.
