I thoroughly enjoyed reading this! I'm still not sure that Emma has any real ability for self-reflection even by the end, but that's part of what makes it hilarious. :-) So many good quotes that still pertain to society today! All of the mock-solemnity involved, overanalyzing any tiny detail, and the reliance on social events to determine people's feelings (real or deceitful) was enjoyable to read. Couldn't stop thinking about the movie Clueless while I was reading! Poor Harriet and Mr. Martin. :-) Emma's Dad is hilarious as well. Who doesn't know someone like that?!
