oh to inherit billions of dollars and properties as part of a will from a man you never knew

I expected this to be atleast a little thrilling considering the title and the phrase “let the games begin on the cover but it kinda wasn't... halfway through, I felt like I was still waiting for the book to pick up. But even so, my curiosity prodded me on. I feel that it's worth mentioning that there's a love triangle I'm not really a fan but there also wasn’t much to go on with both guys anyway so as of the first book I don’t care about the (barely there) romance aspect. I also feel like I didn't get to know the Hawthorne siblings well in this book so I'm looking forward to that in the rest of the series. The last 10 chapters felt like a dump of the ~interesting moments~ but the ones that came before are just meh. My main question (aka why did the inheritance go to Avery even if she’s not blood-related) is still unanswered and I liked the ending so I will still be looking out for the next book.
