This is the first Ben Elton book I've read and I am glad I did. It is an excellent comic tale in the world of the reality TV show (some would say talent show). It's a very satirical view of the whole Pop Idol/ X Factor thing. I should point out here that I really do despise these kind of programmes as I believe they are what will eventually kill the music industry
However, that aside this is a hilarious story with some great characters, some of whom to me seem very much based on some of the judges of the UK's pop Idol and X Factor. There are some real laugh out loud moments and an excellent twist at the end which really took me by surprise. I will definitely read more of Mr Elton's work
