To Sir Phillip, With Love (Bridgertons, #5)

I wanted to give it 5 stars but i can't. The depiction of Philip is pure 1 dimensional at times. It started nice and i had high hopes that this book will be the best of the best from the series (don't get me wrong, it is the best so far...), but as i reached the middle and then the end, the dialogue and the characterization of Philip was just wrong. He became brutal with her and even when he knows it ("She didn't say yes, but i think she wants it"), he just did what he pleased. And when he was enumerating the reasons why he married her - "He wanted to marry her so that she can free him up of all the little things [his children, his house, so he can play garden]. " - That's not a good reason to marry someone. It felt as if towards the end, Julia just said "fuck it, i've built a good character let me ruin it".
I don't know if the depiction of male characters in Julia's books is historically correct or if someone abused her so she doesn't know how a normal man should behave...
