An absolute delight and a nail-biter thriller all in one! Shade Renard wants to go beyond her village witch responsibilities into the private investigation "game." She starts out trying to help an FBI determined the fate of a disappeared woman and ends up solving Otherworld murders, theft and rivalries that threaten her life and the life of her spunky familiar, Peaseblossom. Shade's inexperience is beautifully balanced with her extensive training and "witchy sense" as she investigates. Vampires and fey add depth and color and chills that kept me reading page after page after page. A wild ride, but very worth it!
