it was amazing

great book that touches on issues that any kid faces. It is scary because it is always scary to face inner whirlwind of the deepest emotions. It is creepy since our imaginations can and do create all sorts of things out of fear and vulnerability. The author brilliantly describes Coraline's struggles and shows her safe path to work through the fears with the support she needed. Loved the book and the movie.

“Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.”

“What's your name,' Coraline asked the cat. 'Look, I'm Coraline. Okay?'
'Cats don't have names,' it said.
'No?' said Coraline.
'No,' said the cat. 'Now you people have names. That's because you don't know who you are. We know who we are, so we don't need names.”
Neil Gaiman, Coraline
