The Graveyard Book

Nice little book for young adults. Explores the usual stuff of loss and growing up and life changes and all that that kids are always dealing with and it does so without the usual heavy-handed lecturing (or the unrealistic -- not to mention creepy -- near-cheerleading of Judy Blume books). At times I felt the pace of the overarching plot of the Man Jack was not moving along quickly enough, but it is full of lots of enjoyable Neil Gaiman trademarks of wonderful language and personality and just downright funny stuff to keep you interested. Nevertheless, this is a great introduction for young new readers to Gaiman's work.
