One of my favorite Heyers and favorite books of all time. I love love love the beautiful romance that blossoms between Venetia and Damerel. An autumn idyll indeed! I loved how the heroine wrenched her happy ending back from the jaws of her disapproving family and acquaintances. Beautiful.
Venetia’s (younger) brother deserves a special mention too. He was the best, despite always interrupting Damerel’s just when he was proposing to his sister.
