did not like it

Just an appallingly written book leaning entirely on an existing wonderful story.

To compare this to Madeline Miller’s Circe or Song of Achilles is unforgivable.

Lady of the Woods Totally agreed! I was expecting way more of this - hence all the great reviews on here and elsewhere.
But oh boy, was I disappointed.

SpeakMyFlavor I am baffled by all of the reviews claiming this is, "beautifully written." The writing is stilted and cringey and reads like a basic YA novel. I think this book is being overhyped by people who read books twice a year on plane flights or something.

Hattie can't agree more!!! such a flat, uninspired book that comes nowhere near circe
