really liked it

I am totally loving this series. (Although I think it must be best NOT to read them back to back because then the formula wears through.) This is a good one -- tense, claustrophobic, and non-stop action. Two quibbles -- the romance between Reacher and Duffy seems...unmotivated. Like the author says to himself, "And this is the place where I start the romance," and proceeded to have Reacher make out with the nearest available female character. Also, the last 20 percent of the novel seems unduly long...and a bit confusing. Some tighter editing would have sharpened it up nicely.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Maggie Totally agree with not reading too many Jack Reacher books close together. The character tires me.

Richard Lynde Surely Maggie the same with any author. Shame they used a minor to play Reacher on screen!!

Charlee Seiple First Lee Child's/Jack Reacher book I have read. I could not put it down. Now wanting to read more.

Cheryl Van Allen I agree - it gets old if you read a few in a row, but taking a break makes it great.

Terri Davis I an a Lee Child fan. Reading his books make me feel like a kid watching superman on a Saturday morning on TV as a kid. Jack Reacher in each of his books ( I've read them all now & am working currently on Personal) is bigger than life, smarter with lots of c'mon sense, super fighter, capable in most life situations & is the hero to come out in top in the end. I'll read & be a fan of anything Child writes. Terri Davis

ethel coffman i have read several Reacher novels, and this was disappointing. Way too much filler and a weak ending. this is definitely not up to par with others

Paul Allen Julie I agree about the 20% bit, as 100 pages could easily have been scrapped and not unduly affected the storyline.

Tony I agree about reading them back to back. I just started the series about 6 months ago, and have been doing them pretty close, and I am finding some of the dialogue repeatable. I had really not enjoyed Echo Burning, but gave myself a bit of break and really have enjoyed Without Fail and Persuader.
