it was ok

What potential, wasted. An interesting premise of a centuries-old mysterious serial killer is interwoven with an unnecessary modern-day story of a privileged woman finding out her marriage is failing. Tension is barely there in either story, even though all the characters try to build it by spending ages wondering who is behind the door before opening it or what the other one is going to say mid-conversation. And, a personal pet peeve (here there be spoilers): EVERY HELPFUL, FRIENDLY LIBRARIAN YOU MEET IS NOT DYING TO BE YOUR BEST FRIEND. Really, we're being professionally curious, not trying to buddy up to you, save you from the police, or offer to go on holiday with you! Ugh. And (less personal) I bet Cambridge has pretty damn tough admission standards- don't assume you made it and plan your life around it.

Disappointing.
