Given the danger of what is happening in the US now, where citizens are being divided against other citizens based on group associations, I wanted to learn about The Troubles in Ireland. This book was incredible! Granted, it was focused on its attention, but the "whataboutism" that is inevitable from a work of Narrative Non-Fiction did not distract me from being able to focus on the tragedy at the heart of this story. Imagine being a self-proclaimed Freedom Fighter, who stands for the rights of all individuals, only to be responsible for disappearing people from the most basic of their liberties, which is life. I highly recommend this book.
