This was really well done if you totally ignore the backstory , but (view spoiler)[ The Welcome Home Son party at the end ( even accepting that his lungs, eyes, hands, bowels et al "remembered") was, IMO, so stomach turning and vile that I could only assume they went insane from their guilt.
***My major "BUT" is one of the book's major premises. The "Unwind Peace Accord Compromise" has nothing, zero, zilch to do with the Pro-Choice position. Pro-Choice does not want to be forced to create a life. It does not want to kill a life AFTER it becomes a life. How the eff is this a compromise. How is it ok with the "fertilized egg is a sentient human from day of fertilization" people- happy with then killing that life 13-17 &364 days later. This is no compromise; it is the end of pro-choice -there is no longer a choice!!!!!, Perhaps in the future when birth control is seen as premeditated murder, (as it precludes the possibility of creation) there could be another optional murder at x # of years to be considered. I am putting 4*s because I am ignoring the premise for the story. The story was good , but the premisei is revolting. I'm not sure I can stay at 4 *s
