To Kill a Mockingbird

One of the finest and most endearing books I’ve ever read! - well, as a matter of fact, one of the most perfect stories that were read to me (and this one by by Sissy Spacek)!
Listening to Scout and then to Atticus and then to Jem and then to Tom Robinson, Calpurnia and to every single one of the characters you just know that life is simple in its essence: good and evil are generally very clear to see, people are different but share some sort of sort of common sense and common feeling. You know it is a crime to kill a mockingbird...., and yet you wonder: why is this story somehow still so possible? (Maybe not exactly like the way it happened in the book, but in this all new, advanced, technological world of the 21st century why does humankind keep killing its own mockingbirds?)
How I do recommend this book to everyone!
