An easy read. A little too easy. It was entertaining but there was no depth in either the characters or the plot.
It’s about a petty criminal who hopes to earn quick cash by going along with a scheme concocted by a very wealthy shady business man. And several players in the background have their own interests.
She is not aware of what she is really getting into...
It’s set on the moon, which comes with its own special circumstances. Of course things go wrong. And then we get a rollercoaster of inventive solutions to get things sort of right.
Yes, I’ll say it, sort of like Mark Watney in the Martian. The hugely succesful first book of Andy Weir (which I very much liked).
This is not as inventive anymore after reading the Martian. Sure the setting is different. And a lot more people are involved. But it’s still mainly one character (Jazz) who has all the action and the solutions.
Considering the simplicity of the story and the juvenile behaviour of Jazz, this reads like YA novel really.
