really liked it

I really thought I would just skim this book, but ended up reading most of it and actually learning who the Scotch-Irish were. My Dad always said we were Scotch-Irish, but I also heard there was no such thing, so, now I know my Daddy was right! Well at least about there being a Scotch-Irish "nationality" for lack of a better word. The Scotch-Irish were Presbyterian Scots from the lowlands of Scotland recruited by King James to come to northern Ireland to farm the land. Speculation is they did not inter-marry with the local Irish very much, because they brought their families with them. They Scotch-Irish started migrating to the US in early 1700's and mostly came into Philadelphia route and traveled northward. Glad I read it! Truth be told--I skimmed the last 3rd of the book.
