okay i am in love with Gideon like i have a crush on her. i was a bit confused reading the book which usually is fine but i just feel like a bit more could’ve been explained. Hopefully in Harrow’s book that is fixed because i really intrigued with the book.

Linda Gideon was confusing but harrow is 10x more confusing! I loved harrow but I’m just letting you know that the first 75% of harrow makes no sense whatsoever but towards the end it’s all pretty much explained and it’s v brilliant!

A I loved Harrow but if you had trouble with Gideon the Ninth being confusing, Harrow is so much worse. Basically right from the beginning, I just gave up on understanding and went along with the ride

GooderDean95 I would not expect things to get less confusing. And personally, I don't think this is a fault of the books. They just have a very unique way of telling their story. The first book has a very complicated world but little to no exposition because Gideon doesn't care about it. The second book finds a new way to not tell its story directly. This type of storytelling works for me because it forces me to think more about the world.

GooderDean95 @Linda I wouldn't say it makes no sense. Because even if you don't really know why certain things are happening, this book also has "normal" story lines that can be followed without fully understanding everything. But you are right that you only really know what is going on after 75% of the book. There are a few hints that could lead to understanding it earlier but you are still not sure about it until almost the end. For me it is part of the charm but it is defiantly not for everyone.

Mocha Beanz I'm currently reading Gideon the Ninth, and I've basically given up understanding the world. I am enjoying Gideon and how she interacts with things.
