It Ends with Us (It Ends with Us, #1)

I loved this book. I found the way Lily wrote in her journal as a teen was the same way I wrote in mine at that age. My journals all had different names. I wrote about everything. I loved how the journal was used to glimpse back in Lily’s past. This is how Atlas was introduced to us.
Ryle was charming to begin with. I can see how Lily would give him another chance. I could see how a guy like him is given the 2nd, 3rd and so on chance. These guys don’t deserve the extra chances, but they start off great in the beginning until their ugly shows.
The one character other than Ryle that threw me off at one point is Allysa. I felt like she knew more about her brother’s bad side than she led on. She told Ryle to tell Lily about his history of what happened with their oldest brother and how it impacted him and his behaviors. I felt like she was excusing what she knew up to that point. She validated herself later on when she told Lily to leave.
The end was beautiful. She had made the decision not to make a decision until after her baby was born. The way she told Ryle that she was done and why was perfect. She knew her daughter came first and the cycle had to be broken. It ended with them.
This book resonated with me in several ways. I hope it helped someone out there make the choice that Lily made in the end. I hope there’s another Lily out there that made it out and is living her best life now.

"I kept journals as a teenager too. It’s wild reading Lily’s journals knowing I wrote the same way when it came to little kisses and things. Loving the story so far. I know I haven’t reached the ‘hard parts though."
