I own this book.

The Crow is one of those books that I think inspired a cult favourite film from the 1990s and it's clear to see why. This book is dark, gritty, kind of horrifying in parts but it has a story at it's core that is just heartbreaking. This story follows Eric, a dead man walking, a ghost who hunts down Detroit's crime lords to avenge the death of his fiance Shelley. Shelley was taken from him so close to their wedding and he had to watch her die, along with himself and his future. The Crow told him not to look, and yet he did, and now he's haunted by memories and grief and is seeking his revenge. Despite the darkness in this book, and believe me there's a lot of it, it is just SO SAD. I didn't expect it to make me sad but it did. I like the gritty art style and I really enjoyed my experience reading this book.
