Mrs Dalloway

A day in the life of Mrs D.. ..I really wasn't sure at first. It brought back to me the breathlessness of VW's style which I'd tolerated less well in the past when endeavouring to read her. Here this really worked for me though. All those thoughts which we have in the course of a day, some of which we're barely conscious of.. (would that I could articulate them half as well as VW though)! Superb observation of street and park life in early 20th century London. Talking of which, the mentally tormented Septimus, observed in the park with his frustrated wife, is described and captured from VW's very soul.
Beautifully written, a must re-read (but looking at the number of books on my “to read list I fear it must wait until the after life there's optimism for you!!)

John Anthony,
I love this reading response of yours and I have enjoyed, immensely, having Virginia Woolf on the brain all day today. I have particularly enjoyed the validation of realizing how many others have struggled with Ms. Woolf's style but have still managed a way to know her and love her. I am a new member of the club and I feel excited to join it!
