I got this book for my birthday, and at first, I read the beginning 15 pages, and I thought okay, boring, let's find some other book. But I forced myself farther, and it actually got better and better. It was really dramatic, vivid, and it had a bunch of emotional passages that were not overly dramatic but still good. And at the end though, it was kind of like a bucket of cold water after you've been in a hot spring. He got this huge scar that made him practically a cripple.
