To quote the Famous Ted BarringerCan you give a book a ZERO star rating."
Since I can't give a "0" To this book, I will say the "6 years earlier" chapters I enjoyed, despite how horrible Miles is at writing. If I had a dollar for every time he said the word "Rachel" I could retire early. But that goes along with how Hoover wrote this book it was possibly one of the most nails against the chalkboard kind of writing....here is a little snippet No man thinks in these terms...
My thoughts are Rachel.
I can’t fall in love with you, Rachel.
I look at the sink. I want to look at Rachel.
I breathe in air. I want to breathe in Rachel.
I close my eyes. I only see Rachel.
I wash my hands. I want to touch Rachel..
SO MANY PAGES are like this. These declarations of love all ending with Rachel. I officially do not like this name now because of this book (sorry to all the Rachels out there--including Rachel ray!!!) Miles as a teenager is so unrealistic he sees this girl one time and has already declared he is going to have her babies...um, don't think so. His thoughts/actions are totally stalker like, I mean if I had been Rachel and known his inner thoughts I would have demanded a restraining order...I could go on about how nauseating their relationship is. How many times was the phrase "You Got This" said--?? No creativity what so ever....
Okay now to present day Miles and Tate. Gross. It was basically a book that belongs in an adult store, I am embarrassed to say I read this. I had to skip over so many scenes (so basically 80 % of the book?-ha) Tate is just dumb. Agreeing to a purely physical relationship with nothing in return? No commitment? No dates? Miles treated her like a doormat.....BUT SHE LET HIM. He was a total Jerk to her though, but she brought it upon herself.
Uh I hated this book.
Mile's reasoning for not being able to love was really dumb as well, I mean I understand not being able to get over your first love, but seriously dude, grow up be a man and treat women with respect.
Tate, gave women a bad rep. Not likable at all.
I don't think I will read another Collen Hoover......
