The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium #1)

This story really pulled me through the book at some speed- at first, because it was so banal and I was sure something interesting must happen soon, at the end because I assumed there would be some kind of cliff-hanger to compel me to read the second in the trilogy, and for large parts in the middle because I genuinely wanted to know what happened.
I'm glad I didn't devote time to trying to really figure out the enormous family tree as, alas, there was a lot of superfluous knowledge there.
I thought the writing was dull to read, maybe a bad translation, but the story was genuinely intriguing, but ultimately disappointing in it's conclusion. The suspense hook of the story is up there with Lee Child novels.
