Tokyo Ever After (Tokyo Ever After, #1)

what a cute, light-hearted story! the pitch is spot-on when it says this is ‘crazy rich asians meets ‘the princess diaries. and i would even add in ‘what a girl wants - it actually even borrows the iconic line from the movie. so naturally, i loved this! lol.
other than being set in japan, i cant exactly say this book adds anything new to the stories previously mentioned. which didnt bother me as i enjoy all of the tropes used in them - girl finds out shes royalty, falls for the brooding bodyguard, tries to fit in but realises shes fine just the way she is and lives happily ever after.
its a classic YA story. one that is quick, adorable, and has me looking forward to the sequel!
