A fun, timeless mystery. The cast of characters were rich and entertaining, and Poirot is quirky, endearing, and brilliant. Just when you think you know the answer, there is another twist and the final review was both satisfying and impressive. Agatha Christie has a way of weaving a story that is filled with so many moving pieces that fit together effortlessly. A great example of a debut novel, I will be reading more of Poirot’s adventures!

Paul Weiss I read it, I know I loved it, but it was so many years ago that I have absolutely ZERO recollection of the characters or plot. And since I love Poirot as a character so much, going back for a re-read of his debut novel makes all kinds of sense.

Thanks for reminding me!

Ian M. Pyatt Wonderful review Em. I'm glad you enjoyed this one and hope you plan to read more of her books. Poirot has to be one of the best literary detectives ever created.
