So much self loathing. I hated being inside Eileen’s depressing and vulgar mind. Can contemporary writers stop trying to make a modern day Catcher in the Rye happen? It’s been DONE and surely once was enough.
I’m also salty that the synopsis of this book makes it sound like some mysterious slow burn psychological thriller when in reality it’s about one decrepit girl wallowing in self pity for 80% of the book. 😡 I’ve been tricked.
