"Life is real and sometimes it's ugly and you just have to learn how to cope."

"There's nothing like the guilt you feel when there's room in your heart to love evil.

After reading this book I felt like I was at a football game, when a player does something amazing and the whole crowd gets up and screams their name while bowing at them in reverence (sorry if you dont understand this reference because it may just apply to us silly aussie rules spectators). Except I wanted to get up and scream Collen Hoover's name while bowing at her in reverence because she has done it again. Again she has managed to write a book that I could not put down. Again she has managed to produce a story and characters that grab at my heart from the beginning and well past the end. Again she had produced a book worthy of being added to my favourites list. If this author ever writes anything bad (which I highly doubt) I wouldn't know what to do, because at this point I expect nothing but perfection.

"Fuck all the firsts, Sky. The only thing that matters to me with you are forevers."

"He slides his fingers down my arm until he finds my pinky, then wraps his around it. It's an extremely small gesture, but he couldn't have done anything more perfect to fill me with the sense of security that I need from him right now."

While Slammed captured my heart with the amazing poetry (I have now become a slam poetry addict and religiously watch it on Youtube because of that book), the highlight of this book was definitely the plot. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Hoover would chuck a twist in their that would blow my mind. Both Sky and Holder have their issues, like any other leads in a new adult romance really, but they don't just overcome them completely, but realise that sometimes in life not every issue can be overcome but instead you just have to learn with it in an attempt to heal. I really enjoyed this idea because I felt that its a lot more real than some of the other books out there.

"There's nothing like the guilt you feel when there's room in your heart to love evil.

This story is a tragedy. It made me cry and sob for the things this young coupe have had to go through in their short 18 yrs. However it's ultimately about HOPE , about facing ones past rather than running away from it, and finding some kind of hope in the future. I think Holder and Sky were the perfect example of this and I absolutely loved every minute of their story.

"Our lips are finally intertwining for the first time, or the twentieth time, or the millionth time"

"Thank you for giving me the courage to always ask the questions, even when I didn't want the answers. Thank you for loving me like you love me. Thank you for showing me that we don't always have to be strong to be there for each other- that it's okay to be weak, so long as we're there."

The scene on the bedroom, without them actually kissing is probably alot hotter than many sex scenes I have read. Also I liked that Colleen Hoover was less afraid to describe the sex in this book. In point of retreat she kind of skipped over it, in this book she used it for what it is. A tool to show the developing connection and love between two people.

"I figured if we teamed up, we might prevent at least two unnecessary teenage suicides this year"

I also loved the secondary characters to this book. Karen was such a grey character, and when we finally discover the reasons behind her decisions and the sacrifices she has made I couldn't help but not just love her, but wonder if I myself could ever be that strong. Breckin was also a great comic relief.

This was a beautiful story. If you loved the Sea of Tranquility and the Edge of Never this is definitely one of books for you.

"He reaches his hand out and wraps his pinky around mine."
