The Wrath and the Dawn (The Wrath and the Dawn, #1)
by
I have been wanting to read this book ever since I joined ŷ a couple of years ago. In fact, it was even one of the first books I added here. So, it was a long wait and my expectations were high. I did enjoy this book very much. While not entirely 5-stars worthy (still feel a bit down ;-;), it was very fascinating to see the POVs change, the magic and extremely likeable charcters. The main character, Shahrzad, was well-written. And, I did appreciate the Rumi-inspired quotes and overall writing. Having read Flame in The Mist I have to say that this one is, in my opinion, much more developed. The ending wasn't for me, too much foreshadowing in terms of the sequel. As someone wrote in their own review; this really could have been a standalone, and an amazing one at that. On to the next.
