VIDEO REVIEW HERE:
Wow! Talk about a flashback!
This was the first *intentional* manga series I ever picked up because of my best friend in high school. While I found I forgot almost everything once I started reading, a lot of the feelings I had then are still the same now.
Completely enrapturing.
Though I can say adult me does not miss the days of high school drama and this volume only backed that thought. LOL!
However, it was exciting to reread this volume almost as if I started it the first time. I found I really liked our main characters and really enjoyed seeing their romance bloom.
One thing that surprised me were the motorcycle parts because I had completely forgotten about it. I would say the beginning was almost triggering because my Dad died in a motorcycle accident by racing (not professional racing though) and so I did give this volume a four stars because I do feel slightly apprehensive of those parts. Truly hoping Rei's life will never be on the line at any given point in this series because I might have to drop the series if it's too overwhelming.
My heart really went out to Kira in how she was treated at certain points. She is such a strong woman and was DEEPLY relieved nothing happened to her despite a few characters surrounding her. (Also echoing what some characters said of wanting her to speak up.)
Overall, this was a pretty good volume! A little more "edgier" than what I typically read, but I'm looking forward to the next volume!
