** spoiler alert ** I wanted to like this book. I loved Jake, and the great focus on his character and how he was coping with his transformation. I loved the potential of the Vulteri. I loved Charlie, the most believable character in the book. But I was not thrilled reading pages and pages of a girl moping around after being dumped by her first love, and was quite disappointed with the development on Bella's character. What I thought first as a strong headed intelligent girl, ended up engaging in reckless irrational self destructive activities after her rejection. She is not the first girl ever to experience heart break.

And seriously.... all of these over a paper cut?

Yet, I was oddly drawn to the book and read it in a couple of sittings, and will probably read the next one if I come across it.
