What can I say about Dreadgod specifically and Will Wight generally that I haven't already said if given the opportunity? Frankly, if you've made it this far, then you've already bought in. Perhaps you are merely looking for confirmation that Will hasn't lost his fastball. Rest assured, he hasn't.

This book feels like a Northstrider pocket world in that time seems compressed to fit in as much action as possible as we rush headlong towards the end of the series. And, indeed, that's the only complaint I have; that this is the penultimate Cradle book. The idea that our time with Lindon is almost up is depressing. That said, this book was a lot of fun. Almost all the character development is out of the way at this point, so it's just pedal-to-the-floor action that takes place in a very short amount of time inside the book. Will is riding and benefiting from all the work put into the series so far, counting on the fact that the readers are already invested, allowing him to really go nuts with the power scale.

Again, assuming one has put in the time to read the 10 previous books, I can't imagine anyone being displeased with Dreadgod. Levels are attained, weapons forged, power increased. And we get to spend more time with this found family of sacred artists as they get ready for conclusion.
