I really enjoyed reading this. There were a few very obvious twists that were played as shockers, and a few absolutely subtle ones that I didn’t expect at all.

I guess it’s hard for me to read Riley Sager books because I feel like he explicitly chose a pseudonym that sounds gender neutral so that he can write thrillers about girls and women and a female audience will gobble them up. I also take some issue with the way he wrote the dynamics between the girls, girls/women, and women in this book. They didn’t feel believable. There was much more mean girl behavior and general cattiness and jealousy than I think is realistic. I’m not saying all females of all ages live together in a paradise where we all love each other, but I do think that cruel remarks or jealous relationships are much more believable when we know the motivation of the character, rather than just a sort of general “I hate other girls vibe.

So all in all, a slow start but ultimately a fun thriller, but not a fave and not one I would go out of my way to recommend.
