This small, powerful, and necessary book offers a window into a recent period in the United States and today's history. Its literary qualities, which are undeniable and profound, inspire public health reflections. Unfortunately, the issues James Baldwin addresses are still prevalent in today's American society, but his eloquent prose and insightful observations make this book a must-read.
