My Time Will Come: A Memoir of Crime, Punishment, Hope, and Redemption

The criminal justice systme in the United States is effed up! This is one inspring tale about navigating that byzantine bureaucracy, with a limited skill set and few supporters and low odds for success.
Ian's harrowing experience is informative and, at times, very hard to read. He was basically abandioned to the system as a child of 13 years, tried as an adult and sentenced to life without parole for his crime, he served 26 years.
In My Time Will Come Ian shares his experience, is open about his past and takes full responsibility for his crime. His victim advocated for his release. In the end, the work of the Equal Justice Project assisted Ian and being freed from jail and helped him transition to a life beyond incarceration.
An inspring story.
And I loved Ian's poetry.
