i DESPISED this book. i won’t give it lower than 2.5 ⭐️ though because i’ve read much worse. Also the only reason this book had 2.5 and not 2 is because I loved Colin, he was absolutely perfect and deserves so so so much better than what olivia had put him through. I’m so disappointed by how terrible this book was as well because “Better Than the Movies is one of my all time favorite books (which i still think about religiously). But this book was plainly a waste of time. i can not stand Olivia, she is a helpless b!tch. She is by a landslide the worst character i have ever read, and i thought Evelyn Hugo from 7 Husbands was bad—but this by far surpasses it. She is the most self obsorbed, pick me girl, in the world. She can not go one second without calling people sexist and lives with the most soul screeching victim mentality. Not only that but she is SUCH A BRAT!! She really thought she ate when she flipped out on Paul (in a restaurant!!) and called him pathetic after he paid for her brunch and coffee and when he legit did nothing wrong…what a b!tch! Then she accused Colin of getting her fired because she (and I quite) is “batsh!t crazy. Then she tries to take it back and sobs like a baby and Colin must forgive her, and stupidly he does. After she finds out Colin is Mr. Wrong Number she over reacts to the highest degree imaginable, doesn’t even let Colin get 2 words out to explain and then she’s pissed at him for not explaining when she didn’t give him an opportunity too!?!?Then Colin tells her he loves her and she still victimizes herself and says that he doesn’t mean it. Then drags the EXPENSIVE mattress HE bought for her back to his apartment because she thought he was the one who got her fired because she can’t take any responsibility for her any of her actions. Then this girl has the audacity to get offended by Colin for not telling him he was moving when she legit blocked him from everything and told him to never speak to her again??? I also don’t like how the POVs changed in the middle of a chapter, like why couldn’t u just make a new chapter?? The only thing I liked about this book is Lynn’s show don’t tell, because I can envision everything in the book, a little too much—especially crazy Liv. I would not recommend reading unless you want to be screaming at this book at 1 a.m. with the highest rage you’ve ever felt towards a literary character. It’s the puke filled dumpster modern rendition of “You’ve Got Mail. Disappointed is an understatement of how I feel towards this book Lynn Painter.
