Sure, okay, this is pretty good. A series of interconnected short stories, each with the same basic theme: our heroes are put in a tight spot and have to weasel their way out of it. Sortof like a mystery in a way: you get to try to figure out what their answer will be. Sometimes it's a little obvious. (Really, no one imagined that the Foundation guys would take charge of that big-ass spaceship? Nobody thought of that? And anyway, how did Seldon predict that they would randomly find a huge derelict spaceship just floating around? It's sortof a big deal.) But it's pretty fun.

daniel marcos That's the thing with psychohistory. I don't think Seldon actually predicted the details. I think he knew the Foundation would use religion to turn the general population against their government, thus placing them at the head of the hierarchy.

Matthias Only read this entry of the series so far, planning on a re-read of this soon, with a follow-up of blazing through the series. I really enjoyed the writing in this one but consciously tried not to think too hard about the bigger picture of predictions predicting predictions contradicting predicted contradictions because I thought it would make my head explode. Glad yours is still intact! Good review :-)
